Call for Speakers Opens for the 2027 Lab Design Conference
The Lab Design Conference is now accepting speaker proposals for its 2027 event, which will take place May 10-13 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas in Dallas, TX. Educational sessions will be held May 11-12, bringing together professionals from across the laboratory planning, design, construction, renovation, and operations community.
Conference organizers are seeking educational, non-commercial presentations that provide practical insights, real-world case studies, and actionable lessons learned from laboratory projects. The submission deadline is August 21, 2026.
The annual conference attracts a broad audience of architects, engineers, laboratory planners, construction managers, facility directors, laboratory managers, scientists, researchers, project owners, and representatives from academic, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, government, and industrial laboratories. This cross-disciplinary audience creates opportunities for speakers to share knowledge with professionals involved throughout the laboratory project lifecycle.
A particular emphasis for the 2027 Lab Design Conference program is the perspective of laboratory end users. Organizers are encouraging proposals from laboratory managers, scientists, facility owners, quality and compliance professionals, and technical staff, either as individual presenters or in collaboration with architects, engineers, and project partners. Successful submissions often feature measurable project outcomes, practical recommendations, multiple stakeholder perspectives, and candid discussions of both successes and challenges encountered during planning, design, construction, or occupancy.
As an approved AIA Continuing Education Provider, the Lab Design Conference also encourages proposals eligible for AIA Learning Units and Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) credit. Presentations qualifying for HSW credit should devote at least 75 percent of their content to topics that improve occupant health, safety, or welfare.
For professionals who have recently completed a laboratory project—or are willing to share lessons learned from projects still in progress—the conference offers an opportunity to contribute to industry education while expanding their professional visibility.
