  • Austin AECOM, Chicago, has promoted Tom Serruto, LEED AP, to technical leader/director of laboratory design. Serruto will be responsible for programming, planning, and building design for labs, as well as providing code analysis and technical leadership. AECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, with high tech facilities as a key component of the firm’s facilities market sector.

  • Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, St. Louis, has named Elizabeth VenDerbeck as director of business and development for the firm’s Science and Technology Group. HOK’s Science + Technology group programs, plans, and designs all types of laboratories for academic, corporate, and government clients.

  • X-nth is the new corporate identity of GRG Inc., the Florida-based MEP/FP and planning firm. The new identity, to be rolled out over the summer, will encompass GRG as well as its multiple subsidiary firms, including Earl Walls Associates, Connor Engineering Solutions, TKG Consulting Engineers, JDA Consulting Engineers, and Gallegos Lighting Design. According to GRG, the new name (pronounced eks-en-th) reflects the firm’s “commitment to go to the nth degree to provide a broad spectrum of innovative design solutions.”

  • BHDP Architecture has announced that its Columbus, Ohio, office has relocated. The new contact information for the Columbus branch of this A/E firm is: 274 Marconi Blvd., Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43215; the phone number is 614-486-1960. The firm concentrates on the workplace, education, retail, and science and technology markets, including R&D and teaching laboratories, data centers, offices, classrooms, and training centers.

  • Ellenzweig Associates, Cambridge, Mass., has announced a name change to Ellenzweig. A leadership transition places long-time principals Miltos Catomeris, AIA; Michael Lauber, AIA; and Janet Ross, AIA, LEED AP, in guiding roles, with Lauber serving as president. Founding principal Harry Ellenzweig, FAIA, will continue to design and direct projects. The architecture and planning firm serves academic, institutional, and corporate clients, including a long-term relationship with Harvard Univ. for the creation of science facilities.
