High-flow lab water system creates
convenient package
The Water Technologies Div. of Siemens Group Industrial Solutions and Services has introduced the Centra High Flow packaged central lab water systems. Systems are designed for customers who require a central system that supplies up to 10 gpm of pure water to a distribution loop or multiple points of use. The systems offer integrated technology in a single cabinet, eliminating the hassle of component purchasing and installation. Included are a recirculation pump, storage tank, reverse osmosis, UV photo oxidation unit for bacterial control, a 0.2-µm filter, and a feed to and from an optional DI cylinder. Quick-connect pipe work allows flexibility in layout in the lab. The four high-flow models join the multiple offerings of existing standard-flow-rate Centra systems. (Centra is a trademark of ELGA LabWater and was previously offered by USFilter.)

Gas cabinets suit needs of varied research facilities
The Professor PRO-200 and PRO-400 series of gas cabinets, from Matheson
Tri-Gas, is designed to satisfy the strict budgeting requirements of many advanced technology centers without compromising safety, purity, and quality. The cabinets offer a complete line of fully automatic and manual E-Stop controlled systems, and deliver all needed control interlocks and gas cylinder purge routines with cost efficiency in mind. System status information is monitored with easy-to-use graphics and controller displays. The systems are intended to suit the requirements of clients such as university nanotechnology centers, corporate labs, and all types of R&D facilities.
System provides high-security monitoring features Rees Scientific’s CentronSQL environmental monitoring system is designed to provide the ultimate in high-security monitoring. CentronSQL allows the use of either Oracle or Microsoft’s SQL Server as the database engine. Centron nodes are shipped with Microsoft’s MSDE 2000 data engine which is suitable for use as the main data engine for small systems. Critical GxP audit trails and system program data are kept in encrypted files.
In addition to stability, industry standard data formats, superior multi-user operation, and a dramatically improved system overview, CentronSQL provides a vast array of analysis reports that can be easily accessed from any workstation. Reports can be generated based on time, date, activity, input, event type, or multiple criteria. Users can be notified of alarms via e-mails, which can be sent to up to 50 simultaneous users and include the input number, name, current reading, low limit, and high limit. Besides monitoring critical equipment and processes, the system monitors itself, creating additional alarms that allow for voice telephone calls to be made and all standard alarming functions to occur.
Vendor offers
