New
point-of-use system produces Type II pure water The Barnstead
DIamond TII Type II water system produces water directly from
the tap using a combination of reverse osmosis, UV oxidation,
and deionization. Users can draw directly from the unit for small
volume needs or from 30- or 60-L reservoirs for larger volumes.
An optional reservoir UV lamp ensures water in storage remains
free of bacteria. The LCD display provides data for resistivity,
conductivity, TDS, operating pressures, and reservoir water level.
Resistivities are available up to 15 Megohm-cm; TOC values are
below 10 ppb. Contact: Barnstead International. 800-553-0039;

Automated
lab animal watering systems allows for full turnkey solution
Rees Scientific has complimented its laboratory and animal room
monitoring, lighting control, and security card access product
line by introducing the new Triton Lab Animal Automated Watering
Systems. Users can choose from recirculating UV sterilization
technology and pressure-reducing auto flush systems. Water softening,
reverse osmosis, and chlorine injection are also available. Triton
can accommodate facilities of all sizes or species, according
to the manufacturer. Contact: Rees Scientific Corp. 800-327-3141,

Safety cabinet allows user to program systems for automatic
activation Labconco Corp.’s new Purifier Digital Delta
safety cabinets are intended to provide personnel, product, and
environmental protection and are suitable for work with agents
that require BSL-1, -2, or -3 containment. The Smart-Start system
allows users to program startup and shut-down procedures such
as the activation or deactivation of the blower, light, electrical
receptacles, and fluorescent or UV lights. The operation automatically
starts when the sash is opened and stops when the sash is closed.
An LCD on the interior sidewall displays inflow and downflow velocities,
diagnostics, alarm messages, and programming prompts. Available
as 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-ft benchtop models. Contact: Labconco Corp. 800-732-0031; www.labconco.com.
