  • RWDI Consulting Engineers and Scientists, the wind engineering and environmental consultant based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, has opened an office in Broward County, Florida. Under the name RWDI USA LLC, the office will be led by VP Michael Soligo and business manager Mark Chatten. The 10,000-ft2 location features a complete wind tunnel and model shop supported by engineering and technical staff. The contact information is: 10164 USA Today Way, Miramar, FL 33025. RWDI has multiple Canadian locations, as well as affiliated offices or reps in Redlands, Calif., the U.K., India, and Saudi Arabia.
  • Esco Micro Pte Ltd., a Singapore-based manufacturer of lab and cleanroom equipment, has added a representative office in Johannesburg, South Africa. The office, under the direction of Riccardo Ambrosio, will handle the vendor’s full line of products, including biological safety cabinets; laminar flow, PCR, and other clean-air cabinets; lab fume hoods (ducted and recirculating); and cleanroom equipment and construction components.
  • Airgas, Radnor, Pa., has appointed Robert M. McLaughlin as senior VP/CFO. McLaughlin has been interim CFO since the resignation of Roger Millay on Sept. 20. Thomas M. Smyth, previously VP/internal audit, has been appointed VP/controller and chief accounting officer, filling a position previously held by McLaughlin. In addition, John C. van Roden Jr., executive VP of the P.H. Glatfelter Co., has been appointed to complete the term of director Robert L. Yohe, who has reached the mandatory retirement age for board members. Airgas is the largest U.S. distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as related hard goods.
  • SEi Cos., Boston, has named Paul Catanzaro, CIPE, an associate of the firm. SEi specializes in engineering services for industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities, with R&D and labs as a primary market focus.
